For 40 years, thanks to accountability policies (REP, CSR, responsible innovation) and the arrival of the circular economy , regulations have evolved.

Citizens are also more sensitive and demanding an economy readjusted to planetary limits. Surveys and opinion polls are all about this.

The industrial world has no choice but to review its production methods in order to reduce its environmental impact.

Biowrap helps companies with this conversion thanks to its biodegradable and compostable packaging partially derived from renewable resources and 100% biocompostable.

The plastic invasion

Did you know that after consumption and depending on the type of waste, these can be:

  • reused,
  • recycled,
  • dumped or incinerated?

But today, poorly managed waste represents no less than 100 million tonnes per year.

They invade soils, rivers and oceans, all over the world.

Nearly 150 million tons of plastic have accumulated in the oceans since the 1950s.

8 million tons are added each year.
The equivalent of a dump truck every minute.

A real change must take place…

A 100% biocompostable and naturally biodegradable material

Manufactured, in part or in whole, from plant materials (corn, potato, thistle oil, sugar cane, etc.), it has the advantage of being made from raw materials that are renewed each year at the rate crops. While the oil reserves, they decrease as and when they are exploited.

Micro-organisms can break them down naturally into organic matter, under the right temperature, humidity and oxygenation conditions. This degradation results in water, CO2 and/or CH4 (methane) and possibly non-toxic by-products for the environment. The NF EN 13432 standard certifies that after 6 months, 90% of the material of these bioplastics is degraded in industrial composting conditions.
